Dua Lipa Highlights YSL Beauty’s Newest “Libre” Perfume
YSL Beauty is yet again expanding its “Libre” collection with “Libre Santal Couture,” the line’s first floral woody Eau de Parfum. Global ambassador Dua Lipa fronts the new campaign, shot in the South African desert under director Romain Wygas, built around the warm sandalwood accord that gives Libre’s floral profile more depth.
“Libre has always been about subverting a classic fougère into a feminine fragrance. With Santal Couture, the challenge was to turn a masculine woody facet into a feminine signature. We worked on enveloping the sensual facets of the sandalwood with the feminine heart of Libre. The result is intensely velvety, sensual and addictive,” perfumers Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm say in a press release. For the campaign, Lipa embodies the feminine yet sensual nature of the Libre woman, set to her own cover of Aretha Franklin’s “Think.”
The scent pairs vibrant French lavender with a sensual orange blossom accord, developed using both Moroccan orange blossom absolute and Headspace technology to capture the scent of orange flowers grown in YSL Beauty’s Ourika Community Gardens, grounded by sustainably sourced New Caledonian sandalwood.
“Libre Santal Couture” retails for $155 USD and is available for purchase on the brand’s website.
