Nike Reveals a Dunk High “World Champions” Colourway
Back in April, Nike revealed a trophy-ready ‘World Champions’ take on the Dunk Low. Now, in May, we’re getting a look at its high-top counterpart, the Dunk High ‘World Champions.’ Though this high-cut Dunk does indeed bear many a similarity to its low-top predecessor, it’s worthy of a ‘chip of its own.
White leather serves as the base here, just as it did on the Dunk Low, but the cracked black leather overlays seen on the low-top are traded out for a sleek black nubuck. The Swoosh uses a leather of its own, and is trimmed in purple to match the Lakers-esque purple hits on the collar and tongue trim. Gold is introduced into the mix as well, thanks to the tongue tags and the special lace deubre (which we’ll get to in a minute). Finally, a zebra-patterned Nike hit on the insole serves up some hidden-but-wild style.
Of all the shoe’s embellishments and materials, the above-mentioned and pictured lace deubre is definitely the most notable. Inspired by wrestling championship belts, it’s done up in gold and black and features a blinged-out Swoosh plus Nike text hits. If you don’t feel like a winner, these aren’t the joints for you!
Expect the Nike Dunk High ‘World Champions’ to roll out sometime later this year. Its MSRP has yet to be announced.
