Nike Celebrate Community and Fluidity with the 2022 BETRUE Collection
After its SB Dunk Low and Cortez leaked in past months, Nike have officially announced the arrival of the 2022 BETRUE collection. Designed to create visibility for LBGTQ+ communities around the world and celebrate diverse perspectives, the collection’s offerings are awash in pride, colour and special detail – and they do away with the rainbow flag inspiration that’s been used on every Pride-themed collection under the sun in favour of boldly-blended colours that salute the above-mentioned perspectives of the community.

The collection’s low-cut SB Dunk uses wear-away detailing, colourful abstract stitching and special branded hits, while the Cortez offers a melange of colourful embroidered Swooshes and a rainbow gradient effect on its midsole. Also included in the collection is a new Oneonta sandal that uses colourful straps above a rugged, hike-ready midsole and a wide selection of special apparel.

There’s more to the BETRUE offerings than just special product as well. Since 2019, Nike have donated $2.7 million to support LGBTQ+ causes that encourage widespread inclusion and participation in sports, including Athlete Ally, the Out Foundation, the GenderCool Project, LGBT SportSafe and GLSEN.
If you’re looking to cop some BETRUE kicks this year, all three pairs will release on June 22.
