Take a Closer Look at the adidas x Gucci Gazelles, Clogs, Loafers, Pumps and More
Gucci and adidas officially announced their partnership and revealed their first batch of co-created garments during their fall 2022 ready-to-wear show this past February, and they’re wasting next to no time beginning the rollout: they’ve now released the collection’s first lookbook and announced its inaugural drop as well.
Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele is known for his seamless blending of high fashion and sportswear, and he’s played to his formidable strengths on the collection’s first releases, a plethora of delightfully kitschy 1980s-inspired sportswear and sneakers that appear as if they’ve been pulled straight from the pages of a vintage fitness catalogue.

The key sneaker in the collection is adidas’ classic Gazelle, which is remixed multiple times with premium materials, bold prints and bright colour schemes. There are also chunky sandals, hard-bottom loafers with Three Stripe detailing and even some wild clogs. Tracksuits are the apparel offering’s focal point, but there’s also everything from polos to sweater vests, skirts, dresses, bowling shirts and more. There are even adidas logo-equipped bowling bags! Most of the design interplay occurs between adidas’ Three Stripes logo and Gucci’s red and green web monograms.
These pieces aren’t for the faint of heart – or the short on cash! However, they’re another large chapter in adidas’ high fashion history book, joining the Trefoil’s long history of bridging the gap between the streets and the runway thanks to partnerships with brands and designers like Prada, Stella McCartney and Yohji Yamamoto.
If you’re looking to get your hands on pieces from the Gucci x adidas collection, you can expect them to begin rolling out via Gucci and adidas’ retail channels plus the CONFIRMED app on June 7.
