Palace Reworks Calvin Klein Denim, Underwear and Fragrance for “CK1 Palace” Collaboration

After teasing the collaboration on Instagram, Palace has now officially unveiled its “CK1 Palace” collaboration with Calvin Klein. The unexpected new project mixes Palace’s playful aesthetic with signature Calvin Klein pieces including denim, tees, and fleece, as well as men’s and women’s underwear, a first for Palace.

Calvin Klein’s classic color palette features throughout the capsule, with a focus on black, grey and white alongside “Wheat” and “Quarry.” Additionally, the two brands have created a custom logo that mixes Calvin Klein branding with Palace’s tri-ferg. These designs appear across basketball jerseys, baggy shorts and denim that features a faded wash with modern details. Additionally, Palace has reunited with Vans to create a limited run of “CALVANS,” sporting a custom logo across the Classic Slip-On.

Away from the apparel, the collection also includes a new version of the CK ONE fragrance, marking the first time it has been reworked by a collaborator. For this release, the scent has been given a twist with new notes of “Frosted Mandarin,” “Violet Leaf” and “Oakmoss.”

To mark the collaboration, Calvin Klein and Palace recruited Alasdair McLellan to shoot a campaign inspired by the label’s respective home cities of New York and London. Celebrating the two cities, the campaign features a cast that ranges from Palace team skaters such as Lucien Clarke and Charlie Birch to Hollywood royalty in the form of Willem Dafoe and Dame Joan Collins. Other names featured in the campaign include The Pet Shop Boys, Adwoa Aboah, Lola Leon, Precious Lee and Unknown T.

Launching the collection, Palace founder Lev Tanju said:

“I feel so lucky to launch our first ever fragrance with Calvin Klein. CK ONE disrupted the Status Quo and to be able to make a new version of it in a Palace way has been a dream.

I grew up admiring the iconic Calvin Klein campaigns of the early ’90s for their simplicity and their forward-thinking depiction of fashion that appealed to everyone. It was so visually impactful: the casting, the energy, it really remains unmatched. From the first call with the Calvin team, I knew there was so much we could do. This collaboration has grown organically and I’m proud of everything we’ve created together.”

The Palace x Calvin Klein collection will release on April 8 via Palace’s web store as well as its in-store locations in London, New York and L.A., as well as via the Calvin Klein site. It will then launch a day later in-store and online in Japan.
