SHINYAKOZUKA Reimagines the Converse Boarderstar Ox With Painterly Touches
Japanese designer Shinya Kozuka’s eponymous label, SHINYAKOZUKA, has partnered with Converse to reinterpret the All Star Boarderstar Ox for a limited release. Marking their first joint venture, this collaboration blends painterly motifs with an antique-inspired sneaker aesthetic, creating a shoe that feels as though it has been lifted from the pages of a storybook.
The silhouette, based on the classic Boarderstar platform, layers SHINYAKOZUKA’s signature illustrative sensibilities across the upper, introducing a unique softness while still retaining the model’s robust form. Constructed from a cotton canvas upper and rubber outsole, the shoe features high‑density felt insoles and exposed stitch detailing that reinforce a handcrafted, timeworn aesthetic.
