UGG and AMBUSH Reimagine the Mary Jane and Penny Loafer
UGG recently dropped what was possibly its most divisive silhouette yet — the Bea Mary Jane — and the internet had some thoughts. Now, doubling down on the MJ revival, the lifestyle label has teamed up with Yoon Ahn of AMBUSH for a reimagining of the classic silhouette.
Crafted with UGG’s premium materials and blended with AMBUSH’s distinctive aesthetic, the new collaboration features four silhouettes, adding the Penny Loafer to the line-up. The UGG AMBUSH Mary Jane arrives in two colorways of pink and white, crafted with sheepskin and complete with metal and leather detailing.
Elsewhere, the UGG AMBUSH Penny Loafer comes finished with metal and sheepskin detailing, in hues of burgundy and black. Designed with a slide-on back, the new-and-improved loafer boasts a more casual approach to the typically formal shoe.
“I want the collaboration to bring comfort to the reality of everyday life. Personally? I love Mary Janes and loafers and wanted to create a more relaxed version of them with UGG. These styles are versatile and can match many looks, from casual to dressy,” says Yoon, co-founder of AMBUSH, in a press release.
To celebrate the collection, UGG and AMBUSH recreated the arc of a school talent show for its collection campaign, starring a group of four “misfit teens” each showcasing a different silhouette from the offering. Exploring themes of friendship, feelings and “the awkward beauty of adolescence,” the campaign aims to transport us back to those unforgettable years.
