Take a Full Look at Scotch & Soda Fall Collection
An ode to adventure, Fall 2022 explores the idea of escapism in the everyday. Rooted in the free spirit which defines Scotch & Soda’s home city of Amsterdam – and its outside-the-box thinking – the collection unites pattern, utility, and symbols of sea and sky to deliver an eclectic, modern wardrobe that riffs on the theme of exploration.

Unique prints that capture this essence of adventure are key. The hand-drawn airplane design is a signature for the season, sometimes depicted solo, or elsewhere with mini islands, palm trees and flocking birds. The oceans are also referenced in wave-and-shell jacquards and placed prints that reflect the view from above. Highlights include the bomber jacket and button-up wool-blend cardigan in rich hues of sage, seafoam and pink.

Traditional check goes beyond monochrome: this time, in a standout grass green that’s played out on a two-button blazer with matching shorts; or via unexpected patchwork details on a reinvented trench. This vibrant shade is also used as a solid across knitwear pieces, bringing joy to layering.

The collection revels in subverting expectations – proving that functionality can be playful with a hybrid technical jacket that can be worn multiple ways and comes with a detachable oversized pocket that doubles up as a bag. A blue striped shirt reveals a contrasting red striped interior, while a black satin bomber jacket is lined with a bespoke patchwork print – bold designs with signature attention to detail that encapsulate the idea of discovery.

Denim in fluid tie-dye conveys a free-spirited attitude, executed as either a pixelated pattern across the matching jacket and shorts, and as an abstract stripe. Crisp whites are core, including the Norm jeans, which is woven from organic cotton and finished with black topstitching. Western-inspired shirting also comes to the fore for denim-on-denim styling.

Suiting eases up to reflect the new mood, and is interpreted in different ways, running from smart to casual. A drapey linen suit surprises in vibrant amber; a sporty bomber jacket and coordinating cargo trousers provide a more relaxed spin. Matching sets are further explored in the organic cotton unisex hoodie and track pants in striking flamingo pink, which speak to the need for comfort in dressing now.
This laid-back feel carries through to the new utility wear, with workwear jackets in patchwork scarf all-over prints, balloon cuts and dropped shoulders unveiling a more fluid take on uniform dressing. Metal hardware and raw topstitching show the tougher flipside, elevating essentials like crew necks, tees and denim.
