Prada Promotes Ocean Literacy With National Geographic
Prada is teaming up with National Geographic CreativeWorks for a third time, exploring the origins of its ongoing Prada Re-Nylon initiative. Through four documentary films, each featuring actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Sadie Sink, the new series also features SEA BEYONDers, Goodwill Ambassadors of the project, Valentina Gottlieb and Giovanni Chimienti and local National Geographic experts.
Since 2019, Prada Group has been a part of the SEA BEYOND educational program, raising awareness of ocean preservation in partnership with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO. As part of that, Prada’s Re-Nylon collection is regenerated from plastic waste, sourced from ocean and landfills, evolving Prada’s commitment to creating products without using new resources. As a result, 1% of proceeds from the Prada Re-Nylon for SEA BEYOND collection will directly benefit the program, hoping to inspire and educate future generations.
For 2025’s installment, Cumberbatch travels to Norway and Sink explores Mexico, with each film taking viewers behind the scenes and seas. Exploring its complex ecosystem, the films shed light on the dangers these marine environments face and explore how we can evolve our approaches to create a more positive impact.
Take a look at the first episode of the docu-series above and stay tuned for the next installment landing at the end of this month. For more information, head to Prada’s website.
