STAPLE and PUMA Join Forces for a Celebratory “Year of the Dragon” Collection

With the Lunar New Year coming up, STAPLE and PUMA are celebrating the Year of the Dragon with a special collaborative collection.

STAPLE, which is deeply cemented in the New York community, shines a spotlight on The New York Chinese Freemasons Athletic Club (CFMAC) — also known as the oldest Chinese lion dance club in NYC. The CFMAC are the special guest talent in the capsule’s campaign imagery and are key to honoring the special holiday and celebrations. The CFMAC was founded in 1956 and provides youth with opportunities to learn and celebrate traditional Chinese heritage through the culture of lion dance, martial arts and athletics, all while cultivating teamwork and instilling leadership in each member.

Amongst the collection are key wardrobe pieces that feature classic elements from STAPLE’s archives. The brand’s original “S” dragon logo makes a comeback to become a key motif in the Year of the Dragon capsule. The dragon logo is featured alongside the signature black, grey and pink color palette and traditional Lunar New Year graphics. Essentials like the elevated and graphic tee are available along with the hoodie and the black and slate sweatpants. Continuing their longstanding sneaker partnership, the PUMA 180 surfaces in two colorways — the Granoloa-Apline Snow and Puma Black — while the PUMA Suede also receives a special Year of the Dragon iteration.

The collection of apparel and sneakers will be available on 10 February from PUMA.COM, PUMA Retail stores, Archive, Superbalist and Al Capone.
