Drake Delivers an Elevated Version of His Early Catalog on ‘For All the Dogs’
Drake has dropped off his highly-anticipated eight studio album, For All the Dogs.
Clocking in at approximately an hour and 30 minutes, the 23-track record features guest appearances from Bad Bunny, 21 Savage, Teezo Touchdown, J. Cole, Yeat, SZA, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Chief Keef, Sexxy Red, Lil Yachty and a special contribution from Drizzy’s son, Adonis, who is credited as the artist of the album art and appeared in the music video for the surprise single “8AM IN CHARLOTTE.” For All the Dogs hears the artist stay true to his word of bringing the old Drake back and almost serves as a return to form; he touches on more intimate and emotional topics this time around, accompanied by contemporary low-tempo sonic backdrops to create an more superior version of his early catalog.
The album was announced alongside The Boy’s book Titles Ruin Everything: A Stream of Consciousness, stating that the two pieces go hand-in-hand. “They say they miss the old Drake girl don’t tempt me,” he wrote in the announcement, quoting his own lyrics from “Headlines.”
