Doja Cat Is at Her Best So Far in New Album ‘Scarlet’
Doja Cat has dropped off her fourth studio album, Scarlet.
Clocking in at approximately one hour, the 17-track effort hears Doja Cat at her best so far. She is confident and comfortable in the sonic spaces she explores, proving her ability to evolve with her wants as an artist. Listeners who enjoyed the earworm of her “Say So” era may be taken aback by the majority of rap in the album, but tracks like “Gun” and “Go Off” can almost serve as elevated versions of “Say So” due to their overwhelming catchiness. The hip-hop-centric path that Doja Cat walks on in Scarlet is undeniably one that will attract a wider audience and, hopefully, finally put the rightful respect to her name.
