This Itty Bitty Chain Bra Is the Star of Gucci’s FW23 Campaign
In February, Gucci returned to Milan Fashion Week to present its team-made Fall/Winter 2023 collection ahead of Sabato De Sarno‘s September debut. The showcase was a delicate homage to the House’s past and present while looking to the future with fearless anticipation.
Gucci’s FW23 campaign has arrived, building on the runway’s historical references and recalling Tom Ford‘s directorial reign from 1994 to 2004. While the runway was clad in Gucci’s signature green, the same musty hue backdrops the relaxed campaign. Shot by British photographer David Sims, models Vittoria Ceretti, Aboubakar Konte, and Brando Erba take center stage at Gucci’s Milanese headquarters.
The campaign promotes signature Gucci silhouettes while balancing aged inspirations with ’90s motifs that keep glamor at the forefront. Italian model Ceretti wears the first look that hit the runway, embellished in a petite bikini top with bedazzled “GG” logos on each breast. She exudes elegance in fur-covered V-neck dresses, ready for the dancefloor in sheer red tops and teardrop-shaped skirt ornamentation.
In contrast, Konte and Erba preview Gucci’s FW23 menswear staples across oversized suiting, form-fitting wool outerwear, and slouchy denim bottoms. The Gucci Horsebit Chain bag is dug out of the archives this season, first introduced in Tom Ford’s Fall/Winter 2003 Gucci collection. The accessory maintains its classic geometric shape, boasting enlarged Horsebit hardware initially seen on brand footwear in 1953. Doubled shoulder straps allow for multiple wearing options, available in shimmering silver, textured leather, and yellow fuzz finishes.
