Prada FW23 “Recycling Beauty” Redefines the Formal Uniform With a Blooming Mindset
Prada‘s highly-anticipated Fall/Winter 2023 showcase took place at Milan Fashion Week on February 23, designed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons.
Titled “Taking Care,” the collection offered a considered approach to both fashion and beauty, utilizing its carefully designed garments as signs and representations. Taking uniform as a representation of care and responsibility, traditional tailoring was merged with elegant evening-wear aesthetics, with the reverse applied to typically lavish wedding outfits.
Exploring the concept of safekeeping and protection, the collection featured cozy, cocooning volumes that transformed classic outerwear staples, adding elements of warming padding, leather and suede fabrics and flowers. Elsewhere, the showcase was completed by a moving ceiling, offering a “notion of transformation,” mimicking the unmistakable décor of Prada’s menswear show from January.

Prada’s extravagant-yet-minimal showcase also saw the likes of supermodels Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid walking the runway.
