Fans Are Losing It Over Adam Driver’s Thirst-Inducing Burberry Campaign
The internet’s ex-Marine boyfriend, Adam Driver, has reprised his hottest role to date: turning into a centaur for Burberry Hero, a fragrance that promises its wearers the sex appeal of a half-human, half-horse.
Last summer, the British maison sent the blogosphere into heat by tapping the chiseled actor and an equally muscly horse to star in an ad for the eau de parfum, a traditionally masculine concoction of wood and pine notes.
A wildly re-shared campaign film saw the equine-human pair sprint across the beach and eventually plunge into the water. In an unprecedented plot twist, the horse and Driver appeared to emerge from the waves as one.
A year after breaking the internet with the weirdly hot video, Burberry has released a slightly updated version of Hero, along with another cut of Driver morphing into a centaur.
Per a press release,
“Driver’s energy exudes tender soulfulness, expressed by the presence of the horse, which in turn, is a creature that represents strength.”
The new campaign, directed by Jonathan Glazer, is nearly identical to its viral predecessor. Driver, naked save for his wetsuit leggings, runs down the shore alongside a stately Friesian. They’re in the water. Shots of Driver’s impressive sidestroke intermingle with the horse’s legs.
Breaking with the original (helpfully embedded below), a voiceover hears Driver proclaim in his deep, AI-adjacent voice: “It takes courage to embrace your extraordinary.”
And in that grand finale we’ve all come to know and thirst over, a hazy silhouette of Driver’s head and torso appears to meld with the horse’s body. Animorphs never looked so good.
