Women’s Basketball Community Hoop York City and adidas Partner for Footwear and Apparel
adidas have teamed up with women’s basketball community, Hoop York City for a brand new capsule including apparel and sneakers! Founded by Alex Taylor in 2018, HYC was born from the identified lack of space for women to ball and connect with one another. As stated via their website, ‘Women so often find themselves having to fight for space and equality in the world, and more specifically, in the world of basketball. There’s a complete lack of safe spaces for women to play the game they love, engage in healthy competition and make meaningful connections with one another.’
HYC’s mission is to close the gender play gap, through creating more opportunities for women in NYC to hoop, as well as fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for members to connect and build within. More than that, their goals extend to philanthropic projects which aim to inspire the next generation, through the positive power of basketball and art.
Next up on their roster of positive contributions is their collection with adi, which has delivered two vibrant iterations of the Exhibit B baller sneaker, a silhouette famously worn by Candace Parker. The duo features a lime pair, as well as purple, bolstered by a range of t-shirts, shorts and crewnecks.
