New Balance 2002R Arrives in “Light Cream/Purple” Blend
If you’re a proponent of running-turned-lifestyle sneakers, there’s a good chance you’ve been loving what New Balance has been doing with the 2002R recently. Once a $250 high-performance runner that was the crown jewel of the MADE in USA line, it was altered to create a casual favourite back in 2020 and now it’s one of the brand’s most popular lifestyle options.
In April alone, we’ve seen everything from a GANNI colab to a set of backless mules and a white/gum addition to the popular ‘Protection Pack,’ and now a beautifully-bolstered brown and blue style has appeared. With a healthy dose of rich, shaggy suede atop a sporty mesh base plus artful colourblocking it’s more than worthy of inclusion in the 2002R lineup.

Waves of oceanic blue sit atop the shoe’s white base, and crash into an earthy brown shade on the heel. They’re also met by stony grey on the tongue and collar, while a lighter blue hue is scattered around as well to add a little extra contrast. Traditional branded hits grace the midfoot and tongue, among other locations, and two-tone midsoles with bouncy N-ERGY cushioning round the style off.

A release date for this New Balance 2002R has yet to be announced, but it’s likely to drop in the coming weeks.
