JJJJound Partners With ASICS for a Duo of GEL-KAYANO 14 Collaborations
JJJJound have made more than a few friends in the footwear industry since they put out their first sneaker colab in 2016. The Montreal-based masters of minimalism have worked with (in order) Victory Sportswear, Vans, New Balance, Reebok, Danner, Dr. Martens and Padmore & Barnes, and now they’re adding yet another contact to their collaborative Rolodex: ASICS, with whom they’ve whipped up two takes on the GEL-Kayano 14.
In true JJJJound fashion, both of their reinterpretations of the popular retro runner are understated and elegant. Each pair in the duo offers a classic combination of a white mesh base with metallic silver overlays, but one adds black detailing, a full cream midsole and a black outsole while the other opts for white detailing, a partial cream midsole and a full cream outsole. There’s a small hit of JJJJound branding that can be seen on the lateral heel as well as the right shoe’s insole, and both styles are completed with Instagram archive page-approved cream laces.
At the time of writing, we’ve yet to receive any information regarding the JJJJound x ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 collection’s release date, but it’s likely to hit shelves later this year – as is the recently-revealed JJJJound x New Balance 990v3 in brown and black.
