Bodega’s ASICS GEL-MC PLUS Collaboration Is a Reflection of Springtime
Legendary sneaker boutique Bodega is clearly enjoying the warm weather in Boston, tapping the folks at ASICS for a fresh-as-a-daisy version of the GEL-MC Plus! The collaborative relationship spans back to 2014, beginning with the ‘Get Wet’ pack that highlighted the GEL-Lyte 5.
The GEL-MC Plus originally released in 1995 and was designed by Shigeyuki Mitsui, who also created the GEL-Lyte III. Since debut, Mitsui’s OG design has been updated with a GEL-Cumulus 17 midsole, drastically improving comfort and the performance spec.

ASICS has generally flavoured the GEL-MC Plus in rugged ripstop but Bodega has chosen an eclectic mix of shaggy and perforated suede with a dash of padded mesh. Embodying the seasonal vibes, the colourway exudes warm weather, green-green grass and the bluest skies. Elsewhere, the medial Tiger Stripe logo is covered with a strap connected to the centre eyestays. Rounding it out is a co-branded key ring and special packaging.
Celebrate spring wherever you are in the world with the Bodega x ASICS GEL-MC Plus! April 29 is the date to watch and pairs will be made available via the retailer’s webstore at 12pm EST through a FCFS basis.
