Release Date Announced: Union x Nike Dunk Low ‘Royal
Union and Nike’s globetrotting ‘Passport Pack’ collection of Dunk Lows are getting ready to head home. After the ‘Pistachio’ was released in February and the ‘Argon’ received a release date earlier this week, the third and final style – ‘Royal’ – has also been stamped with a date of arrival.
Though you could be forgiven for thinking that the purple and white colour scheme on the ‘Royal’ was inspired by Union’s hometown Los Angeles Lakers, it’s a salute to a rare retro Dunk High: 1999’s ‘Reverse City Attack’ which was released exclusively in Japan, making it a perfect subject for the international theme of the ‘Passport Pack.’

The white and purple style of the ‘Reverse City Attack’ is visible under a gridded synthetic shell that uses gold contrast stitching, roughly hewn in several areas for a touch of bricolage flair. Of course, there’s plenty of Union graphics to be had as well, namely a Frontman figure visible through the translucent outsole, a trademark yellow hangtag on the lateral quarter and a circular white and black Frontman badge on the lateral heel.
Expect the Union x Nike Dunk Low ‘Royal’ to release via the Union webstore on March 31, the same day as the ‘Argon.’
