Release Date(s): A-COLD-WALL* x Converse Aeon Active CX Collection

After turning Chuck Taylors into lugged work boots in 2021, Samuel Ross’s A-COLD-WALL* is back with Converse for a new collaboration that packs comfort, sustainability, and futuristic feels into the brand’s latest shoe model. Simply put, these ain’t your parents’ All-Stars.

For the latest collab, Converse taps A-COLD-WALL* to launch its new model known as the “Aeon Active CX,” unveiled alongside the brand’s Weapon CX and Chuck Taylor All Star CX models in June 2021.

Later in 2021, Samuel Ross took to Instagram to provide first looks at A-COLD-WALL*’s spin on the Aeon Flux CX, showcasing the lace-less shoe channeling Nike Space Hippie energy with a sea green crater-like midsole.

Now, A-COLD-WALL* and Converse are ready to drop the collaborative Aeon Active CX they’ve been cooking up in the lab.

At the intersection of sustainability and comfort, you’ll find A-COLD-WALL* x Converse’s Aeon Active CX, flexing its Crater midsole of recycled materials, cushioned CX foam underfoot, and stretchy mesh-combination upper.

Indeed, Converse’s newfound innovative, comforting technologies are impressive on the Aeon Active CX, but the shoe’s visual appeal is undeniable.

A-COLD-WALL* x Converse’s Aeon Active CX’s speckled Crater midsole immediately grabs your attention, followed by the ACW’s warehouse-style graphics printed on the light grey upper and the neon orange-lined opening.

As the brands put it, the shoe’s “progressive design” ultimately sets the tone for the future of Converse’s footwear, with a perfect prep by the conceptual forward-thinking design codes of A-COLD-WALL*.

Two colourways are set to release: ‘Micro Chip/Healing Jade/Black’ and ‘Black/Black/Apple Green.’ Each will see a staggered rollout, with the former arriving exclusively at the ACW* website April 6, then hitting the Converse website on April 12 and the latter releasing via ACW* April 8, then hitting Converse’s online outpost more than a month later on May 12.
