‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Upgrades for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X Aren’t Coming Until 2022
Despite insisting on 2021 release dates for both next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Wicher 3 for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, developer CD Projekt Red has now announced a delay in the two upgrades to early next year.
In a statement posted on Twitter, the studio said that “Based on recommendations supplied by teams supervising the development of both games, we decided to postpone their releases until 2022.” No specific reasons were given for why there’s been a delay, but CD Projekt Red says it “wanted to make it right” before launching the two titles, probably having learned from the fiasco surrounding a broken launch for the original Cyberpunk 2077. The Keanu Reeves-starring game is now slated to arrive by the end of Q1 in 2022 while The Witcher 3 will come in the following quarter.
