Vans’ Moc Low Might Be Its Most Grown-Up Shoe Yet
Vans steps outside its usual skate uniform with the Premium Moc Low, bringing a more refined, moccasin-inspired silhouette into its laid-back world. We spent some time in the shoe to see if growing up suits Vans.
There’s something immediately different about the Vans Premium Moc Low. It doesn’t carry the obvious skate-shoe language we’ve come to expect from the brand, but somehow, it still feels unmistakably Vans.
The moccasin-inspired upper gives it a more considered, grown-up appearance, while the chunky sole keeps things relaxed. It lands somewhere between a sneaker and a casual dress shoe and that middle ground is exactly what makes it interesting.
On Foot
The real appeal becomes clearer once you start wearing it.
It’s comfortable enough for everyday use, but looks considerably more intentional than simply reaching for another pair of sneakers. We found it particularly easy to style with relaxed trousers, denim and wider silhouettes, though there’s enough simplicity here to experiment.
It’s the kind of shoe that can take you from a casual day out to dinner without needing a wardrobe change.
The Verdict
The Moc Low doesn’t try to replace Vans classics like the Old Skool or Authentic. Instead, it gives the brand – and those of us who grew up wearing it – somewhere new to go.
It’s refined without feeling formal, distinctive without trying too hard, and versatile enough to become an everyday pair.
Maybe Vans is growing up.
