GANNI and New Balance Expand Sneaker Loafer Trend With Limited Edition 1906L Collaboration
Copenhagen-born fashion house GANNI, and New Balance are joining forces for their latest collaboration, rewriting the rules of what a sneaker can be. The hybrid 1906L silhouette is a boundary-pushing shoe that fuses the energy of a classic runner with the polished structure of a loafer, celebrating a fusion of aesthetics for a new generation.
This design arrives at the height of the sneaker loafer trend, a polarizing but popular style that is currently dominating footwear. The trend, a direct response to a fashion landscape that values both comfort and an elevated aesthetic, is all about breaking down traditional barriers. The GANNI x New Balance 1906L is a perfect representation of this movement, bringing a high-fashion sensibility to a sportswear icon.
The shoe itself is a bold piece of design. Anchored by a chunky rubber sole, its upper features GANNI’s signature snakeskin print and a vivid, multi-colored palette. The classic loafer strap detail is reimagined with a rebellious twist, featuring a metal GANNI butterfly logo and a metal New Balance logo in place of a traditional penny. This design grounds itself on a classic athletic heritage while GANNI’s expressive approach amplifies its attitude. The limited-edition sneaker will be available on September 24, via GANNI online and in-store before heading to New Balance on September 30 for $190 USD.
