Reebok Celebrates 40 Years of the Club C 85 With Vintage Model
To mark the 40th anniversary of one of Reebok‘s quintessential models, the British sneaker maker is releasing a limited-edition Club C 85 Vintage upgraded with special details from the outsoles to the tongues. Originally hitting the ground in 1985 and dedicated to serving tennis players with a comfortable, reliable shoe, the versatile sneakers have become a modern classic worn across the globe.
Reebok looks back with pride, honoring the model’s original silhouette and enhancing the retro appeal with its materiality and graphic components. Clean white full-grain garment leather uppers contrast with the true blue Reebok logo featured on the lateral side, while translucent gum soles recall earlier sneaker aesthetics of the 20th century.
An embossed white leather tag on the tongue displays the Reebok emblem, and on the backside of the shoe, a retro 85 callout is embossed on the heel tab. Looking at the interior, a discreet 40th Anniversary wordmark appears behind the tongue tab, and a special green Reebok graphic is applied to the insole.
The model’s new launch only marks the beginning of an ongoing rollout, which will carry the celebration throughout 2025 with more limited-edition models. Though the design was released almost half a century ago, the shoe’s consistent relevance has not faded, serving as the focal point for brand collaborations and fusion footwear. Variants from labels as recent as 2024, including JJJJound, Hartcopy, Dime, Adsum and an ongoing list, attest to the evergreen reign of the brand’s iconic shoe.
Reebok’s 40th Anniversary collection is available now at the Reebok web store and the brand’s physical locations.
