Lacoste and Maison Château Rouge Celebrate the Creative African Diaspora
Lacoste just dropped an incredible collaboration with French label Maison Château Rouge, celebrating a fusion of cultures and the creativity of the African diaspora. Resulting in an eight-piece apparel collection alongside four footwear styles, the new collaboration sees French sportswear and craftsmanship collide.
Drawing inspiration from the suburban style of the ’90s, the collection offers “finely selected materials” with classic silhouettes, finishing with golden crocodile detailing — in homage to both Lacoste’s heritage and to Akan weights, a metal measure used in West Africa. Including zip-up jackets, printed T-shirts and long-sleeved polo shirts, the collection favors elements like exposed seams, high-quality fabrics and timeless silhouettes.
The footwear offering comprises four sneakers, each with a wax print-inspired insole and tennis-themed elements. Arriving in colorways taken from the classic Lacoste wardrobe, the shoes alternate with contrasting topstitching in order to complement the apparel collection.
Celebrating the extravagant new release is a vibrant campaign, drawing on the cinematic filming style of the ’60s and spotlighting an emerging community of young creatives.
