Sporty & Rich Presents Three adidas Handball Spezial Colorways
Emily Oberg’s ascent in the fashion industry is one for the history books. Emerging as one of streetwear’s most prominent media figures in the mid 2010s, she went on to start Sporty & Rich — an Instagram mood board that has evolved into its own empire as a fully-fledged lifestyle brand. Hot off of opening its own SoHo flagship store last year, Sporty & Rich continues to make noise with its elevated leisurewear. Over recent years, the brand has worked closely with adidas and the two are now preparing to release their fourth collaborative project together — again crafting co-branded footwear.
This time around, the two have looked to the Handball Spezial for inspiration as the retro sneaker has been enlivened with three new colorways. Each pair sports a suede base at the upper that combines with leather at the Three Stripes and the adidas-branded heel tab. From there, golden “Sporty & Rich” text can be spotted just above the lateral stripes while a gum sole backs the three color arrangements of green, brown and pink.
The fourth adidas Originals x Sporty & Rich collection launches on May 23rd on adidas.co.za and Sandton, V&A, Gateway and Shelflife at 10 am and retails at R2499.
