Montblanc Marks ‘100 Years of MEISTERSTÜCK’ With Wes Anderson-Directed Short Film
Luxury German titan Montblanc has nearly reached the 120th birthday milestone, becoming renowned for its world-class fountain pens, watches, and leather goods. Montblanc recently celebrated a century of its iconic Meisterstück fountain pen with a snow-covered event in Los Angeles and a surprise performance from John Legend. To accompany the breakthrough, Montblanc enlists American director Wes Anderson for a humorous film to mark the occasion.
The 3-minute short, titled 100 Years of MEISTERSTÜCK, unexpectedly sees Anderson hit the screen, starring alongside Astroid City‘s Jason Schwartzman and Rupert Friend. In true Wes Anderson style, the film features single-frame scenes and subtly comical dialogue about the history and craftsmanship of Montblanc.
The cast begins 100 Years of MEISTERSTÜCK standing at the summit of Mont Blanc mountain in Western Europe. After rushing out of the blazing snow, the trio head into the Mount Blanc Observatory to present the anniversary collection, including bags, pouches, and wallets — alongside a special-edition fountain pen designed by Wes Anderson releasing in 2025.
