ASICS Prepare to Launch the UB6-S GT-2160
Right now, I can’t breathe. No, it’s no medical emergency, but Kiko Kostandinov Studio’s work at ASICS continues to keep its foot on my neck – yours, too. The ASICS GT-2160? A delightful three-piece addition to the duo’s growing arsenal of best-in-class sneakers.
At this point, I refuse to try hiding my bias where the work of Kiko’s team and ASICS are concerned. It’s become impossible. Most recently, treats included the GORE-TEX-equipped GEL-Sonoma 15/50 GTX (which I’ve struggled to take off for the past few months) and the pastel-coated GEL-Kayano 14.
It’s becoming difficult to prioritize which styles deserve to be copped and which are best left to be marveled at – if I could take them all, trust me, I would.

The Kiko Kostadinov Studio continue to work in-house at ASICS, curating a bevy of models and consulting on colour palettes and materials. The duo have already crafted the GEL-TERRAIN this year, which saw the brand new silhouette debut in three crisp tones that exude major trail vibes. Next up, the pair are set to rework the GT-2160, and multiple colourways have already been locked in to land in select regions around the globe.
ASICS’ originally launched their GT-2000 line in the 2010s, and through their GT-2160, they give off a distinctly period-correct vibe, blurring the lines between sport and lifestyle. The upcoming three colourways move away from the classic white mesh, silver overlays look and have instead adopted the classic Kiko studio tones, similar to that used on their GEL-1130 collection. A standard mesh base has been used, with added leather details.

The ASICS UB6-S GT-2160 is set to hit the shelves on March 8. Priced at R2800, all items will be available to shop via Shelflife and Archive Collective stores. Whether you’re looking to elevate your running gear or infuse your daily wear with a touch of athletic sophistication, the UB6-S GT-2160 is poised to become an essential addition to sneaker rotations everywhere.
