Kiko Kostadinov, Heaven by Marc Jacobs and ASICS Run Up a Rat-tastic Collaboration

Kiko Kostadinov, Heaven by Marc Jacobs and ASICS SportStyle already make for an eclectic grouping on their own, but when you add New York City rats into the mix, the result is full-blown chaos. In a subway-set campaign starring model Kiko Muzihara and her friendly pet rodent, the trio of collaborators debuted a textural range of ready-to-wear and footwear that is evidently equipped to endure the metropolitan’s everyday nuttiness.

This latest team-up marks a reunion for Kostadinov and Heaven, who previously joined forces on a collaborative collection last year. This time around, their joint fashion universe evolves with new screen-printed graphics, denim washes and statement knitwear. Graphic works from Australian artist Spencer Lai and London-based illustrator Alice Bloomfield playfully decorate hoodies, longsleeves and skirts made from repurposed materials, while cameo necklaces assemble all sort of glass beads to form the line’s hero accessory. Elsewhere, jackets and tops are shaped by their asymmetrical zippers, and color-blocking becomes key on knits.

ASCIS opts into the collaboration for footwear, offering up the synergetic GEL-LOKROSTM silhouette, which takes from both the classic Mary Jane design and the GEL-KIRILTM’s signature tooling. The shoe features a quilted upper and an elastic fastening system made with metal-like straps. The FLYTEFOAM™ PROPEL cushioning floral tread puts aero-dynamism in the fore, while ASICS’ gel cushioning fills the midsole. The silhouette will be available in three colorways: “Vapor/Cosmos,” “Faded Denim/Pale Aqua” and “Graphite Grey/Gunmetal.”

The Kiko Kostadinov x Heaven by Marc Jacobs x ASICS SportStyle collaboration will launch on February 22 on Marc Jacobs and Kiko’s webstores, as well as in their retail outposts. Take a closer look at the line in the gallery above.
