Nike Advocates “Unity” With Latest Gradient-Swiped Air Max Plus
Adding to the golden Air Max Plus, Nike outfits the shoe in a split of half black and half gradient for its latest “Unity” collection. The sportswear giant has recently been stocking shelves with a number of interesting renditions of the classic silhouette such as “Social F.C.,” “Metallic Copper” and a white and blue Terrascape.
Despite the predominantly stark black design, the “Unity” collection was concocted to populate a sense of harmony despite differences — a powerful message that applies to our current social climate throughout the world. The Sean McDowell design showcases all black laterals from top to bottom with only a white outline surrounding the Swoosh. Flipping to the medial side, the black rib cage wraps over a colorful yet soft gradient canvas base matching the underbelly of the sole and Air units within the midsole. Branding elements are further found throughout the shoe from the tongue tab and heel tab while a subtle “Unity” label is sewn above the mudguard.
Look out for further details of the Nike Air Max Plus “Unity” to come with the release likely to hit select retailers and Nike in the coming weeks.
