Nike Channels Its Inner Super Hero With Its New Air Kukini “Mighty Swooshers”
The Nike Air Kukini is seeing an epic resurgence in 2022, with a number of GR colourways making their way onto shelves all around the globe. A rather obscure design originally imagined by the Nike Alpha Project back in 1999, the Kukini was unlike anything else that the brand had ever released, its laceless construction and webbed uppers always destined to catch many off-guard, as they continue to do today.
First released in a bunch of colourways that oozed futuristic aesthetics, it’s clear that this year’s releases are nodding to that bygone era, with a bit of a 2022 touch. So far there’s been a range of patterned variations (not for the fainthearted!), from leopard print, through to vibrant gradient mixups and water-inspired graphics.
The latest Air Kukini to hit the party is this ‘Mighty Swooshers’ inspired pair, paying homage to Nike’s Swoosh Man superhero mascot from the 90s. You can see the Swoosh Man printed all over the uppers, sitting atop a black midsole, highlighted by silver webbing which adds to that Y2k feel.

You can have a closer look at Nike’s Air Kikini “Mighty Swooshers” above and it will be available on the official Nike store in the coming weeks.
