Nike’s Air Jordan 1 Nods to Michael Jordan’s First-Ever Signature Shoe With Its “Newstalgia” Design
The Air Jordan 1 has continued its reign, doubling down in 2022 with not only a swathe of new colourways but legendary OGs as well! The silhouette’s dedicated brigade of followers have been patiently awaiting the back half of this year which will see the ’Stealth’ and possibly the ‘Chicago’. Before all that though, the specially-Swooshed ‘Newstalgia’ has been locked in to hit shelves.

This pair first leaked way back in January and was said to be dropping alongside the frilly pink Dunk Low for Valentine’s Day however, it was hit with some major delays! Originally dubbed ‘Chenille’ due to the type of yarn used on the Swoosh, Jordan Brand are now officially calling these ‘Newstalgia’.
As with many releases from Michael Jordan’s signature line, it surely riffs off nostalgic aspects of the GOAT’s historic career. Coming correct in a multi-tone build, the white base layer and red overlays remain in classic leather while the Swoosh and tongue get specialised treatment in yarn and corduroy.

You can have a closer look at the Air Jordan 1 “Newstalgia” above and it will be available on the official Nike website and select retailers in the coming weeks.
