Official Images of the Air Jordan 5 “Green Bean”
The rumours are true: the Air Jordan 5 ‘Green Bean’ is indeed returning in 2022. This shiny colourway first hit the retro Jordan scene in 2006 and the brand is looking to tap into that memorable era of non-original colourways and new concepts.

Among the AJ5’s accolades is its introduction of reflective materials into the Jordan line via its large tongue. The ‘Green Bean’ takes full advantage of this property and covers the entire upper in the sparkly stuff, meaning these will flash with every step and photograph in direct light. When there’s nothing shining on the shoes, the flat finish appears a mix of grey and silver, which is met with a darker accent on the midsole and lace hardware. The colourway’s nickname comes from the forefoot accent, lining, Jumpman branding, and lace toggle finished in light green. All things considered, this is essentially a one-to-one remake of the 2006 edition.

The Air Jordan 5 ‘Green Bean’ retro is expected to release on May 28. With Jordan Brand dipping into their ‘middle’ history and bringing back colours otherwise not expected to return, perhaps this means other mid-2000s limited editions will surface once more.
