Sean Wotherspoon’s adidas Originals SUPEREARTH Superstar “Black” Is Dropping Soon
Sean Wotherspoon and adidas Originals revisit their first collaborative sneaker, the Superstar, dressing the iconic silhouette in a black base. Many of the details from the first co-branded Superstar — multicolored floral embroidery, a bright orange tongue tag, and an earth-inspired character placed over the laces — are kept the same.
The wild details reflect the patchwork theme of the project, which is inspired by Wotherspoon’s love for upcycling and flea market hunting. To date, all of Wotherspoon’s adidas collaborations have incorporated some form of eco-friendly measure. In this case, the Superstar is created using scraps from other projects. Most notably, the sneaker’s tongue is made from vintage adidas Samba sneakers, connecting Wotherspoon’s love for football with his love for fashion and creating products.
