Kanye West Finally Releases New Album ‘DONDA’

Update 29/08: The wait is over. Listen to Kanye West’s tenth studio album below.

Coming in at one hour and 48 minutes, West’s long-awaited album boasts a Jay-Z feature, as well as appearances by The Weeknd, Lil Baby, Pusha T, Kid Cudi, Travis Scott, Lil Yachty, Jay Electronica, Playboi Carti, Baby Keem, Young Thug, Lil Durk, Pop Smoke, and Jadakiss. Unfortunately, the album also includes contributions from Marilyn Manson, DaBaby, and Chris Brown.

Just hours before the album dropped on streaming services, West took to Instagram to claim the album was being held up by DaBaby’s manager, who refused to clear a verse on the song “Jail.” “Jail Pt. 2” is not, however, available on streaming services, suggesting that the issue has not been resolved.

Original Post: Earlier this week Kanye West took to Instagram to share that he was living inside the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta to finish his upcoming album DONDA, and now the rapper has shared a new release date.

The album was previously set to release on July 27, but in true Kanye fashion, it was delayed. The rapper orchestrated a big listening party, running an excited audience through each of the tracks – many of them sounding more like demos than finished songs. The most surprising feature on the album was undoubtedly Jay-Z, who joined Yeezy for a verse on the album’s last song, “Guess Who’s Going to Jail Tonight,” and caused a social media frenzy.

Yesterday Kanye once again took to Instagram to share that the new DONDA release date will be August 5, with another album release event taking place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, kicking off at 9 p.m. EST. Tickets for the listening party will go live Monday, August 2, at 10 a.m. EST.

Lastly, the new album release event will also feature creative direction from Balenciaga’s Demna Gvasalia. Kanye was spotted at the designer’s Haute Couture show earlier this year, so who knows what the two have been working on.

Stay tuned as any more information surfaces, and fingers crossed the album will actually be dropping this time.
