‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Promises High Fashion and Higher Stakes
For many, their first introduction to the world of fashion was with the larger-than-life characters of Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly and Anne Hathaway’s Andy Sachs, two mid-2000s icons that now return in the new age for The Devil Wears Prada 2. Two decades after the original film’s debut, the star-studded cast comes back this spring to give us everything we loved about The Devil Wears Prada, from the runway-worthy fashions and witty humor to the iconic one-liners, but with fresh twists, modern storylines and a new generation of style.
This time around, we see Streep and Hathaway’s fan-favorite characters reunite, taking them – and us – back to their OG days at the film’s fictional fashion publication, Runway Magazine. They’re in a race against time to save the print publication and maintain its relevancy in modern times, a fitting reflection of where print media currently stands in the fashion landscape. From the trailer, we can still expect to see Streep’s Miranda Priestly give her former assistant, Andy Sachs, that infamous icy glare and sharp tongue, but time will tell if Hathaway’s character has something up her sleeve.
The highly anticipated sequel has been the talk of the town since it was confirmed in 2024 that The Devil Wears Prada would get a well-deserved follow-up. Since filming began, we’ve caught glimpses of what to expect through paparazzi snapshots, and little teasers from the actors to keep us on the edge of our seats. As the May 1 release date gets closer, the excited chatter only gets louder, it’s safe to say that the world is ready for the return of Miranda, Andy and Runway Magazine.
Don’t miss out on The Devil Wears Prada 2, in theaters May 1.
