EA Drops New Official ‘Skate’ Gameplay Trailer
After years of anticipation, the wait is almost over. EA and developer Full Circle have finally unveiled an official gameplay trailer for the next evolution of the Skate franchise, confirming that the game will enter Early Access on September 16, 2025. This highly-anticipated release, officially stylized as skate., will be free-to-play and available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The new trailer gives fans a deep dive into the expansive, multiplayer-focused world of San Vansterdam, a city built from the ground up for skaters. It highlights a number of new features, including a revamped “Flick-It” trick system rebuilt on the Frostbite engine, and new off-board controls that allow players to climb, jump, and explore the city’s verticality in a way that was never possible in previous games. The footage also teases a live-service model with new content, challenges, and events planned for each season.
With cross-play and cross-progression, players will be able to connect with friends across all platforms from day one. The game is being positioned as an ever-evolving sandbox shaped by community feedback, with the Early Access period serving as a key part of the ongoing development process. The news signals a new era for the beloved series, bringing the franchise back with a fresh, modern approach.
