Burberry Taps TikTok Sensation “Bus Aunty” for “Back to the City” Campaign
It’s no secret that Burberry has been on fire with its campaigns lately. From the incredibly chic swimwear drop to that nostalgic festival campaign, the last few months have most definitely helped the heritage brand to reclaim its crown — further evidenced by last quarter’s Lyst Index results.
Of course, that wasn’t enough, because the brand has just dropped what might be its most surprising team-up yet. Tapping TikTok sensation “Bus Aunty,” otherwise known as Bemi Orojuogun, the new campaign celebrates everything that makes London the cultural melting pot that it is. Tapping into Orojuogun’s now-famous TikTok format, in which she films herself posing in front of red double-decker buses, the new “Back to the City” campaign captures her amongst rising models on the bus.
“Think of it as a guided tour of this incredible city,” begins Burberry’s Chief Creative Officer, Daniel Lee, in a press release. “It’s the personality of its people that makes London feel so unique. Something you’ll find woven into the very fabric of Burberry,” Lee adds. He then describes the campaign as a “celebration of its famous skyline, the beautiful buildings and the Londoners who choose to call it home.”
Along with Orojuogun, the campaign cast includes models Nora Attal, Rubuen Bilan Carroll and Libby Bennett, plus musician Jimothy Lacoste, who created the soundtrack.
