Beats Meets Kiko Kostadinov for Bulgarian-Inspired Pill Speaker
This week’s already been a big one for fashion and music crossovers, kicking things off with Chopova Lowena and Sony and now, Beats has entered the chat. Teaming up with London-based designer Kiko Kostadinov, the new collaboration results in a limited-edition Beats Pill speaker, blending Kostadinov’s distinctive design language with the tech pioneer’s unparalleled audio quality.
Crafted with a custom grill, the design speaks to Kostadinov’s Bulgarian roots, taking inspiration from the “ornate geometry and Thracian craftsmanship” associated with the region. Landing in a “Kiko Gray” colorway, the new speaker also comes complete with a braided lanyard, nodding to the ceremonial talismans found in Bulgarian folklore.
“I believe in creating things that are personal to me and my life. And my life is full of contradiction. So I embrace the juxtaposition between the modern and the ancient in this design,” shares designer Kiko Kostadinov in a press release. “Working with Beats was the perfect avenue to explore the beauty that lies between these seemingly polar opposite concepts, especially considering how the brand has influenced pop culture and modern street style,” he adds.
Take a look at the accompanying campaign above, starring Spanish rapper BB Trickz, and head to the Kiko Kostadinov website from August 15 to purchase the new speaker.
