adidas Originals and Bad Bunny Give a Nod to Puerto Rico With “Gazelle City Series” Release
Bad Bunny has once again brought us a colorful collaboration with adidas Originals through the “Gazelle City Series.” From sold-out stadium tours to memorable red carpet moments, he has proven that his influence transcends music, redefining not only Latin music but also global style.
A tribute to the rich culture and landscapes of his homeland, Puerto Rico, the collection takes shape as a love letter to the Caribbean island where he grew up. It offers three unique colorways that evoke the vibrancy of life in Puerto Rico and each celebrates a different meaningful location. “El Yunque” comes alive in deep green tones that echo the lush tropical rainforest, while “Santurce” is represented by a striking orange to embody the local music, dance and artistic energy.
“Cabo Rojo” is a vibrant pink inspired by the island’s famous salt flats with pink waters, and is captured and worn by a cast of elders from Puerto Rico, dubbed “the keepers of its stories and heart”. While you may not have been lucky enough to visit Puerto Rico in person yet, this collection might be your first stop and a way to transport you just a little.
In order to preserve the authenticity of this tribute, the select colorways “El Yunque” and “Santurce” are available exclusively to residents of Puerto Rico. Meanwhile, “Cabo Rojo” will see a global release via the adidas website, on July 26th 10 a.m. EST, with signups starting July 22nd at 10 a.m. EST, offering fans around the world a tangible connection to Puerto Rico.
Whether you’ve walked the streets of Santurce or are dreaming of your first visit to the island, the collection offers a vibrant step closer.
