ASICS SportStyle Debuts “The Signature Series” With Cecilie Bahnsen
ASICS SportStyle just unveiled “The Signature Series,” a new initiative that highlights seasonal favorites through rich storytelling. Debuting the first instalment is Danish designer Cecilie Bahnsen, a regular collaborator of the brand. As part of the launch, Bahnsen and ASICS debut the GEL-CUMULUS 16 SSCB sneaker, marking the next chapter of their ongoing partnership.

The series itself invites “creative voices” like Bahnsen to reinterpret ASICS classics through their own lens, underpinned by the theme of “Sound Mind, Sound Body.” For this iteration, ASICS and Bahnsen bring back an archival silhouette that originally launched back in 2014.
Debuting three new iterations, the new collaborative shoe comes crafted with delicate, floral-printed uppers, semi-transparent mesh layers and a flower lace toggle. Elsewhere, the shoe boasts rearfoot and forefoot GEL technology, FLYTEFOAM PROPEL cushioning and a TRUSSTIC support unit.
“In designing this shoe, we wanted to explore the juxtaposition of femininity and masculinity,” says Bahnsen in a press release. “We used softly transparent materials and delicate floral motifs against a robust silhouette, playing with contrasts of shiny and matte, softness and structure, light and shadow. The inspiration came from flowers casting faint shadows in pale sunlight — a subtle, romantic visual we tried to capture through layering and texture,” she adds.

Take a look at the new collaboration campaign above and head to ASICS or Cecilie Bahnsen on June 27 to purchase the new silhouette.
