Diesel’s FW24 Campaign, “Break the Box” Plays on Voyeurism and Exhibitionism
Remember Diesel‘s Fall/Winter 2024 show? The one that live-streamed globally, making everyone feel part of the action? Well, the brand is back with its FW24 campaign and it plays on a similar theme — watching and being watched. Ever get that feeling someone is watching you? Fittingly titled “Break the Box,” the campaign leans into that sensation boldly and provocatively. It’s a “study in desire and the tension between appearance and reality,” reflecting the campaign’s motto: “Things aren’t always as they seem and we all harbor many impulses.”
The campaign video opens with a woman turning on her TV in a dull office setting to watch Diesel models dance, completely in their element. But do the models know they’re being watched or are they just living freely?
Shot by photographer Paul Kooiker, the visuals highlight the collection’s edgy yet wearable vibe — think soft tailoring in dark, coated denim, bold acid rain prints and Diesel’s signature distressed jeans. Plus oversized puffers, camo animal prints and shaggy faux furs. The models with confidence and freedom, show off their looks with bare skin, Diesel underwear and mini skirts, oozing a sense of hedonistic sex appeal that’s coded deep into the brand’s DNA.
And it’s not just the clothes turning heads. Diesel’s diverse lineup of models ranges from all ages and even species, with a baby and a chihuahua joining the fun. One standout accessory from the collection? The new “Play” bag, a perky piece in a pink and orange leopard-print pony hair that’s sure to make a statement.
