Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ To End With Season 3, Season 2 Release Date Announced
Hwang Dong-hyuk‘s popular Netflix series Squid Game is coming to an end in 2025 with its third and final season. The streamer officially announced the news along with the December 26 premiere date of Season 2.
The upcoming season will see Lee Jung-jae reprise his role as Player 456 and is set three years after the events of its inaugural season. “Player 456 remains determined to find the people behind the game and put an end to their vicious sport. Using this fortune to fund his search, Gi-hun starts with the most obvious of places: look for the man in a sharp suit playing ddakji in the subway. But when his efforts finally yield results, the path toward taking down the organization proves to be deadlier than he imagined: to end the game, he needs to re-enter it,” the official synopsis read.
Joining Lee in the main cast are his Season 1 castmates Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun and Gong Yoo, while Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri and Won Ji-an appear as new faces.
