Louis Vuitton and Pharrell Williams Embrace the Maritime Aesthetic for Men’s Pre-Fall 2024 Drop 1
Late last year, Pharrell Williams brought his Louis Vuitton Men’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection to Hong Kong. This particular collection marked Pharrell’s second show as the creative director for the French house. While in town to present the show, Louis Vuitton saw the opportunity to embrace the eclectic city of Hong Kong, and most importantly the city’s world renown natural landscape and harbourside skyline to better tell the story of the collection.
In anticipation of the first drop of the Men’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection, Louis Vuitton has unveiled its official campaign which was shot in Hong Kong. The nautical theme is prevalent in the collection, infusing the maritime aesthetic and signature Hong Kong-focused motifs to the campaign. The collection itself focuses on the dandy mariner, as highlighted in the pieces. Contemporary sailor hats are paired with seafaring-inspired uniforms. The signature sailor “tar flap” that is worn over the shoulders becomes an indicative symbol to the collection, incorporated in suits, blazers and even varsity-informed jackets.
From the bow to the stern, the sailing motif is strong, with pinstripes and relaxed tailoring taking the helm. Pleated trousers and collared jackets paired with new renditions of house staple accessories like the Keepall bag. Sea blue tones match the nautical theme, continuing Louis Vuitton’s “Art of Travel” ethos.
The first drop of the Men’s Pre-Fall 2024 collection debuted in Hong Kong last year, is officially launching worldwide strating on April 25.
