J. Cole Surprise Drops New Album ‘Might Delete Later’
Following Future and Metro Boomin‘s recent collaborative album We Don’t Trust You that sent waves through the industry with an alleged diss track aimed towards J.Cole and Drake with the help of a Kendrick Lamar verse on “Like That,” J.Cole is clapping back with a surprise drop of a new album titled Might Delete Later.
On “Like That,” Lamar seemingly took shots at Drake and J.Cole for including him as part of the “big three” on their duet “First Person Shooter.” Lamar rapped, “Yeah get up with me, fuck sneak dissing / First Person Shooter, I hope they came with three switches / Motherf*ck the big three, n***a, it’s just big me.” Responding in his own way, J.Cole drops the album with a diss track titled “7 Minute Drill” where he openly addressed the current beef. J.Cole raps, “I got a phone call, they say that somebody dissing / You want some attention, it come with extensions. He still doing shows but fell off like The Simpsons / Your first shit was classic, your last shit was tragic / Your second shit put n—s to sleep but they gassed it / Your third shit was massive and that was your prime / I was trailing right behind and I just now hit mine.” He continues to reference Lamar’s five-part The Heart series, “He averaging one Heart verse like every 30 months or something / If he wasn’t dissing, then we wouldn’t be discussing nothin’ / Blood don’t make me have to smoke this n—a ’cause I fuck with him / But push come to shove on this mic I will humble him.”
While the beef continues to grow, fans can have a listen to J.Cole’s new 12-track album Might Delete Later which featurs the likes of Ari Lennox, Gucci Mane, Bas, Central Cee and Cam’Ron. This mark’s J.Cole’s seventh studio album. His last release was in 2021 for The Off-Season.
