Moncler and Pharrell Williams Unveil Adventurous Outerwear Collaboration
After partnering with Pharrell Williams’ streetwear label, Billionaire Boys Club, on an expansive collection last month, Moncler has returned with a fresh, puffed-up line made in collaboration with Williams himself. Pharrell, who first joined forces with Moncler for a special line of men’s jackets in 2009, is a long-time friend of the Italian luxury house, and this latest collection serves to cement his place in the Moncler family.
On a palette of slate gray, moss green, lichen and cloud, the collection centers around the notion of “glamping,” or a more refined take on familial, outdoor adventures. With luxe textiles, the designs are built for exploration but with opulence in mind: down padding fuels curvilinear silhouettes, pyramid points define jackets and the collection’s vest becomes the hero with three-dimensional diamond quilting.
Transformation underscores several styles, including long trousers that zip into shorts, duvet blankets that become capes, and jackets that double as fisherman’s vests. Further, removable pockets and detachable logo patches allow the line’s wearers to personalize each piece to their desire.
The Moncler x Pharrell Williams collection will be available to shop in select Moncler boutiques and on the brand’s webstore beginning September 22. For those in Milan, the line will be available one day early at Antonia Via Sant’Andrea 10. Take a closer look at the range in the gallery above.
