RIMOWA’s Latest Campaign Celebrates Its Iconic Classic Cabin Suitcase
For its latest campaign titled “Ingenieurskunst”, which translates to “The Art of Engineering”, German luxury luggage brand RIMOWA spotlights the process, materials, and manufacturing behind its mobility tools which enable lifelong journeys around the world.
Backed by Daft Punk‘s legendary track “Around the World,” the audio-visual campaign takes viewers across the globe to various locations where kinetic installations showcase different elements of the Classic Cabin suitcase. Using 6000 rivets, 180 sheets of anodized aluminum, and suitcase shells, the installations pay homage to the craftsmanship behind the iconic luggage — “from the harmony of the raw, chrome, and matte materials used to create the products, to the symphonic relationship between heavy machinery and the delicate handcrafting that has been mastered by RIMOWA engineers.”
“The topic of German engineering might be considered dry or technical,” says Emelie De Vitis, Chief Marketing Officer at RIMOWA.
“But as our head engineer describes, ‘it is more like a symphony’. We wanted to show that German engineering – which is at the core of who we are – is truly considered art at RIMOWA.”
Thanks to RIMOWA’s new lifetime guarantee, all suitcases purchased from July 25 onwards will be covered to serve as forever travel companions. The campaign was created in collaboration with creative agency Anomaly Berlin and directed by I AM HERE.
