Diesel Takes Over The Sky With Its “Larger-Than-Life” FW22 Campaign
Diesel launches its quite literally Larger-Than-Life Fall Winter 22 campaign bringing a world of Diesel-clad giants to a metropolitan setting. Models become billboard cutouts wearing the fall winter collection, which merge with the skyline of an urban landscape, rivaling the scale of the jutting architectural towers.
Photographed by Johnny Dufort with Art Direction by Chris Simmonds and Creative Direction by Glenn Martens, the Larger-Than-Life campaign creates a bold juxtaposition between the imposing dimension and structure of city skyscrapers and Diesel’s audacious human element. The models’ poses exemplify Diesel’s iconic attitude of optimism, rebellion, sexy and playful irreverence with unapologetic confidence.
The collection showcases Creative Director Glenn Martens’ vision of the Diesel world: denim, experimentation, rebellion, play. Diesel’s seminal signage is applied on stencil printed responsibly sourced wool big logo knits and reversible puffers, while the runway show Diesel D ring returns in pop audacious metallic dresses, cut out tops, belts and shoes.
Denim goes postmodern in fluid trompe l’oeil denim print in skirts, bags, trousers and shirts, some of them in a mixed material mélange with ‘real’ denim. Pure denim pieces are layered with extra texture through look-twice frayed hems at the pocket or waist, or flexible linked inserts in washed red or white. Upcycled jersey is bonded to denim to create artisanal “Peel Off” pieces, as if fly-posters have been stripped off a wall.
