Atmos Celebrates the Nike Air Force 1’s 40th Anniversary with ‘Sneaker Heritage’ by SHOES MASTER
Japanese publication SHOES MASTER and retailer atmos have teamed up to produce the Nike Air Force 1 40th Special Book, a limited edition title covering the past four decades of one of the Swoosh’s most important models. Originally spotted in Japan last week, it’s now been announced that US-based locations are also carrying the book, which has been proofed by a Japanese-English bilingual editor.
Overseen by Hommyo Hidefumi and Hirofumi ‘Koji’ Kojima, the 216-page all-colour book contains a comprehensive history of the AF-1 by Masayuki Ozawa, plus interviews with influential figures including the ‘godfather of streetwear’, Hiroshi Fujiwara. There is also a product focus, with 40 colourways from the past 40 years deemed to be ‘masterpieces’. Some of these include releases from the CO.JP project, samples, and not-for-sale makeups. Good odds are that there are some hidden gems inside. This is definitely a book for all Uptown fans, print media enthusiasts and anyone interested in the rich history and mythology of one of the world’s most recognised (and imitated) sneakers.
